Madelyn's original one-act play, Dad's Gone to War, was recently produced in a staged reading at Theatre TCU.

A Southern family drama meets the Wild West in this epic story of reconciliation between an estranged father and son. Samuel Stanton, a young rancher in 1970s New Mexico, fights to save his property after his mother's death, only to be confronted by a mysterious man who offers to help. Altering between the past and the present, a story stacked with lovable yet flawed characters, high stakes, love, mystery and generational trauma emerges alongside an unlikely yet life-altering friendship.
